2012 Academy of Art Graduation Fashion Show.

The main color story of the season are  black, white, and grey. Designers are inspired by light and shadow There are a lot of history, movie, and militery  influenced elements in this season. Over all, I think everything is really well put together, and balanced. The waist and shoulder stays natural, which makes the garments well fitted the body. This is a calm and low key season, there is nothing too crazy, however all the details and constructions make the collections shine.

This collection by Hely Nguyen was inspired by  Late 19th Century shoe-shine boys


Two of the men's wear collections both have militery elemrnts in there.

A variety of techniques were used to create textures to the fabric in this season.

Leather and wool were used a lot  in some of the fall winter collections.  light weight fabrics such as silk or organza were combined together well  with knit wear  to create layers and contrast  to the garment.

Generally speaking, I think most of the collections are classic however young and modern at the same time. Some of the pieces could fit people from 20-40.
